Cold Laser Therapy
Cold Laser Therapy
Multi-Radiance or Cold Laser Therapy
When it comes to treating injuries and rehabilitation in the equine athlete, cold laser therapy is in demand. Performance horses come in many shapes and sizes. Multi-disciplines may vary from hunters, jumpers, reined cow horse, barrel racing, cutting, reining, and pleasure horses. The one thing all these equine athletes have in common is stress and strain on their bodies. Jumping, running, stopping, turning, and many of the collected movements can put a tremendous amount of stress of the soft tissues and muscle groups. Common injuries can range from inflammation, strains, tears, ruptures, and bruises that can require rest for weeks to months depending on the severity of the injury.
Cold laser reduces and treats inflammation and can be effective in breaking the cycle of wind-up pain. In some cases, it can eliminate the need for NSAIDs. Movement medicine uses scientific investigation to optimize the desired biological effect to provide photochemical (healing and immune response), photophysical (analgesia), or thermomechanical (regenerative) tissue responses.
This therapy delivers optimal doses of light energy using a combination of curated wavelengths and the ideal frequency of exposure to produce targeted outcomes for our equine patients. Performance horses can be treated to improve their biomechanical movement.
Enhance Healing with Cold Laser Therapy
The goal of cold laser therapy is to deliver light energy units (in photons) to damaged cells. Photons are absorbed by the cells and stimulate the mitochondria to accelerate production of ATP. The biochemical increase in cell energy helps accelerate the bodies healing process by transforming cells from a state of damage to a stable healthy state.
